How to Set Up IPTV on Roku: Everything You Need to Know

Roku doesn’t officially support IPTV apps like Android or Firestick, but you can still set it up using a few workarounds. Here’s how to get IPTV running on your Roku device.

📌 Method 1: Using “M3U Playlist Player” (Best for M3U Links)

🔹 Roku used to support M3U Playlist Player, but it has been removed. However, some private channels might still work.

Steps:

1️⃣ Go to Roku Home Screen and open the Channel Store
2️⃣ Search for M3U Playlist Player (if available) and install it
3️⃣ Open the app and select Add New Playlist
4️⃣ Enter your M3U URL from your IPTV provider
5️⃣ Click Save, then restart the app
6️⃣ Your IPTV channels should now load!

⚠️ If M3U Playlist Player is unavailable, try the next method.

📌 Method 2: Using “Screen Mirroring” (Easiest Way)

Since Roku doesn’t support native IPTV apps, you can cast or mirror IPTV from your phone or PC.

On Roku:

1️⃣ Go to Settings > System > Screen Mirroring
2️⃣ Set it to Always Allow

On Android:

1️⃣ Download an IPTV app like IPTV Smarters or TiviMate
2️⃣ Open the app and enter your IPTV details (M3U URL or Xtream Codes)
3️⃣ Swipe down on your phone and select Screen Cast / Smart View
4️⃣ Choose your Roku device
5️⃣ Your screen will now mirror IPTV to your Roku!

On Windows PC:

1️⃣ Press Win + P and select Connect to a wireless display
2️⃣ Choose your Roku device
3️⃣ Open your IPTV app on the PC and start streaming

📌 Method 3: Using “IPTV Smarters” via Developer Mode

You can sideload IPTV Smarters on Roku using Developer Mode.

Enable Developer Mode:

1️⃣ Press Home (x3), Up (x2), Right, Left, Right, Left, Right on your Roku remote
2️⃣ Write down the IP Address shown on the screen
3️⃣ Open a web browser on your PC and enter that IP Address
4️⃣ Log in (Default username: rokudev, Password: set by you)

Sideload IPTV Smarters:

1️⃣ Download IPTV Smarters for Roku (Search online for a compatible version)
2️⃣ Upload it through the Roku Developer Web Interface
3️⃣ Restart Roku, and IPTV Smarters should appear on the home screen
4️⃣ Open it, enter your M3U URL / Xtream Codes, and start watching!

Troubleshooting Tips

IPTV Channels Not Loading?
✔ Ensure your M3U link or Xtream codes are correct.
✔ Restart your Roku device and IPTV app.

No Sound or Black Screen?
✔ Change the video format in your IPTV app settings.

IPTV Not Working on Roku?
✔ Use a VPN if your ISP is blocking IPTV streams.

Final Thoughts

While Roku doesn’t natively support IPTV, using screen mirroring, sideloading, or third-party apps can help you watch IPTV channels. If you want a smoother IPTV experience, consider Firestick, Android TV, or Nvidia Shield.
